Nigeria Government and ASUU Sign Renegotiated Agreement on University Education

The Nigerian government and ASUU signed a renegotiated agreement aimed at improving the quality of university education. Key points include a 40% salary increase for academic staff, improved pension benefits, dedicated funding for research and staff development, and stronger university autonomy.

The agreement also emphasizes academic freedom and leadership selection processes. Effective from January 1, 2026, the agreement will be reviewed every three years.
