FG and ASUU Sign New Agreement to Improve University Education in Nigeria

The Federal Government of Nigeria and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) have reached a new agreement aimed at improving the quality of tertiary education in the country. The agreement, signed in Abuja, includes a 40% salary increase for university academic staff, restructuring of academic roles, and the implementation of new payment structures.

Prof. Piwuna expressed optimism that the government would fulfill its commitments to avoid strikes and enhance the competitiveness of Nigerian academics globally.
