FG Celebrates Graduation of Chibok Girls at AUN

During the 17th commencement ceremony at the American University of Nigeria (AUN) in Yola, Vice President Kashim Shettima expressed pride in the graduation of 12 Chibok girls, who were beneficiaries of a federal government scholarship program. These graduates are part of a larger group of 106 former abductees who were sponsored for higher education following the 2014 kidnapping of 200 schoolgirls in Chibok, Borno State.

Shettima assured the graduates of the government's commitment to supporting their future endeavors. He emphasized the importance of education in overcoming past hardships and encouraged the graduates to contribute meaningfully to national development.

AUN Vice Chancellor Deyawn Frazier highlighted the transformation of these students into leaders. Award-winning journalist Stephanie Busari, who delivered the commencement lecture, urged the graduates to view their certificates as symbols of strength and empowerment, reminding them of the importance of their stories and the need to shape their futures courageously.
