Chibok Girls Graduate from American University of Nigeria

On Saturday, during the 17th commencement event at the American University of Nigeria (AUN) in Yola, twelve Chibok Girls graduated, receiving their degree certificates after being abducted in 2014. Vice President Kashim Shettima represented the federal government, assuring that Nigeria remains proud of the graduates and is committed to fulfilling its obligations towards them.

He highlighted the significance of education in overcoming past violence and hardship. Abdullahi Ribadu, Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission, commended the university's leadership for supporting the Chibok Girls.

Dewayn Frazier, the earlier Vice Chancellor of AUN, described the graduates as change-makers and emphasized their potential to impact the country positively. Commencement speaker Stephani Busari urged the graduates to view their certificates as a source of empowerment.

The event marked a significant moment in Nigeria's history, showcasing the resilience and determination of the graduates despite their traumatic past.
