Nigeria Women’s Cricket Team Defeats Ghana by 136 Runs

In a commanding performance, Nigeria's women's cricket team triumphed over Ghana by 136 runs during the women's invitational T20I tournament at Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos, on Sunday. Winning the toss, Nigeria opted to bat first, scoring a competitive total of 159 runs over 20 overs.

The team maintained a steady scoring rate, with Christabl Chukwuony emerging as the top scorer with 43 runs off 27 balls. Kehind Amusa contributed significantly with 36 runs off 39 deliveries.

Ghana's captain, Lucki Pieti, started brightly but was restricted to 23 runs off 17 balls. Nigeria's bowlers, particularly Peac Usen, who took three wickets for just nine runs, and Henrietta Mbam, who also claimed three wickets, ensured Ghana struggled to build partnerships, leading to their eventual defeat.

This victory marks Nigeria's second consecutive win in the round-robin tournament, following their opening win against Zimbabwe U19, while Ghana faced their third defeat after losses to Rwanda and South Africa U19.
