CUPP Condemns Unconstitutional Suspension of Rivers State Governor

The Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) stated that Nigeria owes reinstated Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara six months of service following his suspension, which they deemed unconstitutional. CUPP criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's declaration of a State of Emergency in Rivers State as undesirable and unconstitutional.

They expressed concerns over the political situation in Rivers State, comparing it to a case of unconstitutional impeachment followed by restoration through judicial intervention. CUPP emphasized the need for Governor Fubara to serve the remaining six months of his term, which they believe was unjustly taken from him.

The coalition condemned what they perceived as antidemocratic actions that could undermine democracy in the country.
