Nigeria Petitions ITTF Over Visa Denial for World Youth Championships, Expresses Concern Over Unfair Treatment

The Nigeria Table Tennis Federation (NTTF) has formally petitioned the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) after Nigerian players were denied visas to compete in the 2025 World Youth Championships in Romania. The NTTF President, Adesoji Tayo, condemned the decision as a violation of international sportsmanship principles.

Despite qualifying for the tournament, Nigeria's participation is now in jeopardy due to the visa denials, causing financial setbacks and disrupting the country's ambitions in grooming world-class players. The NTTF has notified the ITTF and the Romanian Table Tennis Federation that they will not be liable for any penalties or financial obligations arising from the visa refusals.
