Nigeria's Leadership in West African Peace and Democracy

During the Voic Nigeria Forum, Jibrin Barau, the Deputy President of the Senate, praised Nigeria's crucial role in advancing economic development, democratic governance, and peace mediation across West Africa. The forum, themed "51 Years of Nigeria's Role in Deepening Democracy and Stabilizing ECOWAS," underscored Nigeria's efforts to promote credible elections, uphold the rule of law, and ensure transparency in the parliamentary process.

Barau noted that Nigeria's leadership extends beyond governance to include economic development and collaborative peace-building initiatives with West African nations. He highlighted Nigeria's significant contributions to sustaining democracy and promoting human rights in the sub-region.

Alhaji Moham Idris, the Minister of Information, reiterated Nigeria's commitment to supporting democratic transitions and strengthening regional institutions. The discussions reaffirmed Nigeria's status as a resilient nation and a leader in fostering unity and stability in West Africa.
