Nigeria Reaffirms Anti-Drug Commitment at NDLEA Graduation

Nigeria has reaffirmed its commitment to the global fight against illicit drugs as officers from the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) graduated from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) academy in Quantico, Virginia, on Friday.

Brig Gen Mohammed Buba Marwa (Rtd), the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NDLEA, assured during the graduation ceremony of the agency's dedication to strengthening international collaboration in the fight against transnational organized crime. He noted the increasing sophistication of criminal networks, which necessitates stronger law enforcement cooperation across borders.

Marwa described the ceremony as significant and paid tribute to members of the Special Investigative Unit (SIU) who lost their lives in the line of duty, referring to them as heroes whose courage and sacrifice continue to inspire law enforcement agencies globally. He stressed the importance of coordinated intelligence-driven international responses and highlighted the advanced operational skills acquired by the graduates, urging them to apply their training professionally and courageously.

Marwa expressed optimism about the ongoing partnership between NDLEA and DEA in delivering sustainable results in the global fight against drug trafficking and organized crime.
