Nigeria Reaffirms Commitment to Regional Agricultural Integration at ECOWAS Meeting

Nigeria, through the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Sen. Abubakar Kyari, reiterated its dedication to enhancing regional agricultural integration at an ECOWAS meeting in Abuja.

The discussions focused on policies to strengthen coordination, improve trade, and protect the environment in West Africa. Sen.

Kyari highlighted the significance of agriculture in intra-regional trade and stressed the need for member states to support farmers, deepen market integration, and align with trade agreements like the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and ECOWAS Trade Liberalization Scheme (ETLS). The meeting aimed to shape policies for sustainable agricultural development in the region.
