Nigeria records 663 million metric tonnes in exports to ECOWAS in H1 2025 — NEPC

The Nigeria Export Promotion Council (NEPC) reported that Nigeria exported a total of 663 million metric tonnes of products to the 11 ECOWAS member states in the first half of 2025, marking a significant increase from the same period in 2024. This growth highlights the country's expanding footprint in regional trade.

Additionally, Nigeria exported 488 million metric tonnes of products valued at $21 million to other African countries outside the ECOWAS bloc during the same period. The NEPC emphasized the role of the AfCFTA framework in boosting regional commerce and driving economic growth across the continent.

Leading export companies such as Indorama Eleme Fertiliser and Chemical Ltd and Starlink Global Ideal Ltd contributed significantly to the total export volume. The report also highlighted the key role of banks in facilitating export transactions, with Zenith Bank Plc processing the highest number of Nigeria Export Proceed Forms (NXPs).

The NEPC noted that 18 exit points, including seaports, international airports.
