Nigeria Revenue Service Denies New Vehicle Tax Claims

The Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) has issued a statement refuting claims of a new vehicle tax purportedly introduced by the federal government, which was said to take effect on July 1. The NRS Chairman, Dare Adekambi, clarified that the agency did not originate the misleading information circulating online.

He advised the public to disregard the false graphic that allegedly directed owners of private, commercial, and corporate vehicles to pay an unspecified tax. Adekambi emphasized that the NRS has an official website where accurate information can be found and warned against sharing unverified content on social media.

He reaffirmed the agency's commitment to transparency and the accurate dissemination of tax-related information, urging Nigerians to rely on official government communication channels for updates on tax policies.
