Nigeria Calls for African Ports Cooperation to Boost Blue Economy

Abubakar Dantsoho, the Managing Director of the Nigerian Port Authority (NPA), called for enhanced cooperation among African ports to boost the blue economy and regional trade. During a meeting with the Port Management Association of West and Central Africa (PMAWCA) in Pointe-Noire, Republic of Congo, Dantsoho highlighted the need for joint efforts in areas like climate action, digital infrastructure, and port resilience.

He emphasized the significance of collaboration over competition to ensure security and transparency in port operations, citing the importance of cooperation in global trade competitiveness. This initiative aligns with previous agreements made by African port leaders at the World Port Conference in Japan to promote growth through stronger policies and easier trade processes.
