Nigeria Hosts Intra-African Trade Fair 2027 in Lagos

Nigeria signed the host agreement for the fifth edition of the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF) 2027, officially designating Lagos as the host city. The agreement was signed on Monday and marks a significant milestone for Nigeria and the African continent.

The IATF 2027 is scheduled to take place from November 5 to November 11, 2027, following Algeria's hosting of the fourth edition in 2025, which recorded $49.94 billion in trade and investment deals. The upcoming event aims to attract 100,000 visitors and 2,500 exhibitors from 100 countries, targeting $50 billion in trade and investment deals.

Former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo will chair the IATF 2027 Advisory Council. Dr.

George Elombi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Afreximbank, commended Nigeria's leadership in advancing intra-African trade. The trade fair will feature various programs designed to promote trade and investment across Africa, including large-scale trade exhibits and forums focusing on the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
