Nigeria to Pitch Oil and Gas Investments at China Summit

Nigeria is preparing to present its oil and gas investment opportunities in China as part of efforts to secure fresh capital for the sector, which is vital for government revenue. The Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) has initiated consultations with government agencies and stakeholders in the petroleum sector ahead of a proposed Oil and Gas Investment Summit in China, tentatively scheduled for late November 2026.
The summit will prominently feature gas, with investment opportunities across exploration and production, processing, and other downstream activities. Dr Ekene Enefe, chairman of RMAFC’s Investment Monitoring Committee, stated that the commission has identified significant opportunities in the gas sector and aims to attract investors for both upstream and downstream activities.
He emphasized the need for intervention to bring investors into the sector, highlighting the importance of the gas sector to Nigeria's economy.
