King Charles III Celebrates Nigeria-UK Partnership

During a state banquet at Windsor Castle on a Wednesday night, King Charles III remarked on the stable partnership between Nigeria and the United Kingdom, acknowledging the painful historical context stemming from British colonial rule from 1914 to 1960. This event marked the first state visit to the UK by a Nigerian president in 37 years.

King Charles praised Nigeria's transformation, noting it has not merely changed but has become a nation of 230 million people, with half being under 18. He disclosed that Nigeria would become the UK's largest export market in Africa by January 2026.
