The Nigerian Air Force has compensated victims of an accidental air strike in Sokoto State, acknowledging civilian casualties and expressing commitment to protecting citizens. Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet delivered the message on behalf of the Chief of Air Staff, commending Governor Aminu Tambuwal for local security initiatives.

The incident occurred during an operation against suspected terrorists, resulting in 13 unintentional civilian deaths and eight injuries. The compensation exercise aims to promote accountability, transparency, and calm tensions while institutionalizing measures to prevent civilian harm in military operations.
