Nigerian Army Provides Free Medical Services in Kwara

The Nigerian Army, through personnel from the Army National Headquarters in Abuja and the 22 Armoured Brigade in Kwara, launched a medical outreach on September 22, 2026, in Oke-Ode, Ifelodun local government area. The initiative aimed to provide free medical services to pregnant women and local communities, reaching over 1,000 beneficiaries.

The outreach included de-worming for school children under 10, distribution of mosquito insecticide-treated nets to pregnant women, and free dental care for the elderly. The team also conducted consultations, laboratory investigations, and immediate treatment with free medications and counseling.

Lt-Gen. Waheed Shuaibu, represented by Maj.-Gen. Musa Etsu-Ndagi, emphasized that this outreach is part of the military's non-kinetic activities to combat insecurity and foster civil-military relationships. Major Ojo Adenegan urged communities to utilize the outreach to reduce medical expenses and build trust with the military.
