Nigerian Army reshuffles top command, appoints new GOCs and principal officers

The Nigerian Army has announced a significant reshuffle in its top command, appointing new General Officers Commanding (GOCs) and Principal Staff Officers (PSOs) in key positions across various formations nationwide. Major General Chinedu Nnebeife has been appointed as the new GOC of the 2 Division in Ibadan, while Major General Wase will take over as the GOC of the 1 Division in Kaduna.

Other appointments include Major General Erebelu as the new Provost Marshal, Major General Idris as the Chief of Military Intelligence, and Major General Osifo as the Director General of the Nigerian Army School of Finance and Administration. The redeployment is aimed at repositioning the Nigerian Army for greater efficiency and effectiveness in addressing current security challenges.

The new postings and appointments will take effect between August 19 and 25, 2025.
