The decision was part of a broader effort to enforce compliance and ensure actual investments in drilling activities.

This move aligns with similar actions in other African countries like Liberia. Atla Oranto Petroleum, the company owned by Eze, faced scrutiny in Liberia as well, where it recently finalized production sharing agreements.

The Senegalese government aims to promote active investment in the oil and gas sector rather than speculative holding of licenses.
