Nigerian-British Singer Talai Rilei Fatally Stabbed

Talai Rilei, whose real name was Mark Yinka Orabiyi, was fatally attacked in East London on Friday at approximately 9 AM on Pankhurst Avenue, Silvertown. Emergency services responded but were unable to save the 35-year-old musician.

A homicide detective from the specialist crime command has launched an investigation into the murder. Rilei's family confirmed his death, expressing their overwhelming sadness and gratitude for the public's support during this difficult time.

They described him as a Grammy Award-winning, multi-platinum selling songwriter whose humor and generous presence will be deeply missed. His brother, Scribz Rilei, a music producer, shared an emotional tribute on Instagram, highlighting Talai as a mentor and inspiration.

Scribz expressed heartbreak over the loss, stating that it felt unreal and that Talai had a profound impact on many lives. Tributes have also come from notable artists such as Stormzy and Craig David, who recognized Talai's contributions to music.
