Oyo State Governor Bans Phone Use and Celebrations in Schools

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state has officially banned "sign out" celebrations and phone use in secondary schools to curb misconduct and violence. The directive follows reports of public disturbances linked to such events.

The ban, announced by Commissioner Olusegun Olayiwola, aims to create a safer learning environment by preventing distractions and cyberbullying. Olayiwola emphasized the importance of compliance with the ban and highlighted the need for punctuality and active teaching engagement.
