Borno Senator Ndume Alarms Over 400 Residents Abducted

Senator Ali Ndume, representing Borno South, has alerted the public regarding the abduction of approximately 400 residents, mostly women and children, by terrorists linked to the group Jama'atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda'awati wal-Jihad in Ngosh, Gwoza Local Government Area, Borno State. This incident occurred last month, during which insurgents destroyed military posts and attacked the Nigerian Army.

Ndume has called for immediate federal government intervention to secure the release of the abducted individuals, who are believed to be held in a terrorist camp. He emphasized the need for the Nigerian Army to sustain its operations until the terrorists are eradicated.

Additionally, he appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration to initiate reconstruction efforts for Ngosh, which has been entirely devastated by the insurgency. The federal government has already allocated N100 million for immediate reconstruction and resettlement efforts, as locals express a desire to return to their homes rather than remain in makeshift camps in Pulka.
