Nigerian Government Holds Strategic Security Meeting in Abia

The Nigerian government, alongside state officials, convened a strategic security meeting in Umuahia, Abia State, on Thursday and Friday. This meeting, the first of its kind in the Southeast, was led by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Georg Akum and included discussions with Moham Sanusi Danjuma, the head of federal and state security administrations.

The primary aim was to enhance Nigeria's security architecture and ensure the safety of citizens. Key topics included the threats posed by misinformation, particularly fake news targeting the federal and state governments, and the need for collaborative efforts to conduct peaceful elections while protecting voters from intimidation.

SGF Akum emphasized the importance of citizen cooperation in providing information to security agencies to curb criminal activities. Abia State Governor Otti assured that his administration would continue to support security agencies to safeguard citizens' lives and property, thereby boosting the state's economy.
