Dr. Olukoya Receives Life Grand Patron Award in Music

The Association of Nigerian Musicologists honored Dr. Daniel Olukoya, the Chancellor of Mountain Top University, with the award of Life Grand Patron during their 22nd Annual Conference. This recognition was bestowed upon him for his significant contributions to the development of music scholarship, practice, and empowerment.

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Mountain Top University represented Olukoya at the award presentation. A representative from the association described the award as a “life-giving award,” emphasizing that Olukoya would hold the title of Life Grand Patron for life.

The representative acknowledged Olukoya's efforts in empowering individuals in the music field and noted that several institutions have benefited from his initiatives. In response to the honor, Olukoya expressed gratitude through an Instagram statement, calling the recognition a “Lifetime Award of Honour” and stating it serves as encouragement to continue inspiring and contributing to the growth of music in society.

He expressed deep appreciation for being celebrated by music professionals.
