Kumuyi Reappoints Tunde Ope-Davies to Anchor University Council

Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi, Chancellor and Proprietor of Anchor University in Ayobo, Lagos, has reappointed Tunde Ope-Davies, a former aide to ex-Governor Babatunde Fashola and a professor at the University of Lagos, to the university’s Governing Council for another four-year term. This reappointment is effective immediately and recognizes Ope-Davies's invaluable contributions during the university's first decade, particularly as the representative of the Host Community.

He has played a crucial role in connecting academia with the Lagos community, promoting initiatives that enhance the university's relevance. Notably, he pioneered the establishment of the university's first Distinguished Public Lecture series, aimed at fostering relationships with local stakeholders and contributing to public debates.

Ope-Davies has also facilitated international collaborations and extended his Digital Humanities initiative from the University of Lagos to Anchor University. In response, he expressed gratitude for the reappointment and reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening the university's ties with its environment.
