NNS Delta Celebrates 70 Years of Service and Community Impact

During the 70th anniversary celebration of the Nigerian Navy held in Warri, Delta State, Captain Daniel Beecroft praised Commodore Shehu Moham Tasiu for his visionary leadership at NNS Delta. Beecroft described Tasiu as a transformative leader dedicated to personnel welfare and community development.

The anniversary included a ceremonial dinner where Tasiu's contributions were recognized, and he was honored with a written commendation. Under his command, NNS Delta has undertaken numerous humanitarian initiatives, including educational outreach programs at Ogiam Primary School, distributing 1,200 notebooks, textbooks, and school bags to pupils.

Additionally, a medical outreach in Ubeji provided free consultations and services to 1,000 residents. Tasiu emphasized the importance of community engagement and teamwork, with various sports competitions involving local youth and security agencies.

The event also highlighted ongoing projects, such as the construction of modern transit accommodations and the foreshore wall project, which are critical for protecting the base's operational infrastructure.
