Nigerian Navy's 70th Anniversary Focuses on Security

During the climax of the Nigerian Navy's 70th anniversary on Thursday night, Commodore Shehu Tasiu of NNS Delta called for stakeholders to provide timely information to help curb insecurity in Nigeria's maritime domain. The event, held at the NNS Delta auditorium in Warri, emphasized the need for collaboration among security agencies to address various threats in Nigerian waterways.

Tasiu noted that the anniversary not only marked a historical milestone but also aimed to strengthen ties between the Navy and the community. The celebration began on May 23, 2023, with outreach programs for widows and educational initiatives for children.

Vice Admiral DPE Omotsola, the 10th Chief of Naval Staff, also attended, reflecting on the Navy's transformation over the past 70 years. The event included various activities aimed at promoting inter-agency cooperation and community engagement, with a focus on building a safer Delta and a stronger Nigeria.
