Nigerian Navy Conducts Third-Quarter March in Bayelsa

The Nigerian Navy held its third-quarter route march on September 26, 2026, in Yenagoa, the capital of Bayelsa State. Organized by the Headquarters, Central Naval Command, the march began at the parade ground of the Nigerian Navy Ship SOROH, proceeding through Opolo Roundabout to Tombia Roundabout before returning to the naval base.

The exercise lasted approximately two and a half hours and was attended by Commodore Christian Okokota, the Commander of Nigerian Navy Ship SOROH, along with other senior officers and personnel. Rear Admiral Suleiman Ibrahim, the Flag Officer Commanding the Central Naval Command, delivered the address of the Chief of the Naval Staff, expressing satisfaction with personnel turnout.

He emphasized that the march was not just a fitness activity but a demonstration of discipline, resilience, teamwork, and operational readiness. He noted the need for personnel to maintain physical endurance and mental alertness to effectively respond to emerging threats, highlighting the expanded responsibilities of the Navy in joint operations with other security agencies.
