Nigerian Folk Singer John Mai Molo Dies from Alleged Food Poisoning, Music Community Mourns

Renowned Nigerian folk singer John Mai Molo passed away due to alleged food poisoning in Bauchi, Northern Nigeria. He collapsed shortly after consuming a meal at home and was rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead.

Molo, known for his traditional music performances, was a household name in Bauchi and played a significant role in preserving the region's indigenous music heritage. The music community, including fellow musicians like Emma Wakili, expressed deep grief over his sudden loss.

This tragic incident follows the recent passing of veteran singer Ahuja Bello in August 2025.
