Osimhen Owed N2.8bn Wages, Set to Leave Galatasaray

Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen is currently facing a financial dispute with Turkish club Galatasaray, which reportedly owes him N2.8 billion in unpaid wages for the months of January and February. Osimhen, who completed a permanent transfer to Napoli for €75 million in the summer of 2025, signed a lucrative contract reportedly worth €21 million (approximately N33 billion) per year, including a net annual salary of €15 million and a loyalty bonus of €1 million, alongside a €5 million image rights payment.

This makes him the highest-paid player in the Turkish Super League. However, reports have emerged as the summer transfer window approaches, indicating that the 26-year-old has yet to receive his wages for the past two months.

His absence from Galatasaray's squad during a recent 2-0 defeat to Konyaspor has intensified speculation regarding his future, with social media rumors linking him to a potential exit from the club if the situation remains unresolved by the end of the season.
