Aisha Yesufu Urges Obi, Atiku to Address Nigerians' Hunger

Aisha Yesufu, a social activist, has urged opposition figures Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar to rethink their political messaging as Nigeria approaches the 2027 general elections. In a post shared on the social media platform X on Thursday, Yesufu highlighted the increasing economic hardships faced by ordinary Nigerians, including rising hunger and living costs.

She argued that the worsening economic situation has pushed citizens into survival mode, making them less receptive to traditional political rhetoric and promises. Yesufu suggested that the opposition leaders should communicate in a language that directly connects with the daily struggles of the populace, combining policy discussions with practical gestures that demonstrate an understanding of citizens' suffering.

She emphasized that the economic pressures on households are significant, draining purchasing power and making basic necessities unaffordable. Yesufu concluded that for the 2027 elections, the opposition must adopt a people-centric approach that addresses the immediate needs of the citizens.
