Obi Warns of Hunger Crisis Facing Nigerians Ahead of 2027 Elections

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), lamented the severe economic hardship and hunger affecting Nigerians, describing it as the greatest form of harassment confronting the populace. He made these statements on Friday while speaking with journalists at the burial of Okaji Simon Okorie Abaa, the father of Linus Okorie, a former House of Representatives member for Ohaozara/Onicha/Ivo Federal Constituency, in Ebonyi State.

Obi emphasized that every Nigerian is a victim of the current economic crisis, stating, “Hunger is harassing everybody,” and highlighted the rising poverty levels under the present administration. He urged Nigerians to express their dissatisfaction with the government and to believe in the power of their votes as the 2027 general elections approach, rather than focusing solely on the electoral umpire.
