Atiku Abubakar Critiques Tinubu on Poverty and Security

Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President of Nigeria and a member of the African Democratic Congress, criticized President Bola Tinubu's administration for exacerbating poverty and insecurity in the country. In a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, Abubakar highlighted the rising food prices and unemployment, stating that Nigerians are struggling to afford basic necessities.

He noted that three years ago, Tinubu promised to renew hope, but instead, the country has faced renewed hardship, insecurity, and poverty. Abubakar expressed concern over recent kidnappings, including the abduction of schoolchildren in Borno State and mass kidnappings in Oyo State.

He called on citizens to demand accountability from their leaders through the democratic process. Additionally, he mentioned that the African Democratic Congress would soon unveil a policy blueprint focused on economic recovery, job creation, and healthcare reform.

The statement also acknowledged ongoing security challenges but emphasized the government's commitment to improving safety across Nigeria.
