Kwankwaso Critiques FG Over Nigeria's Rising Insecurity

Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, a chieftain of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) and former Governor of Kano State, condemned the Federal Government for the escalating insecurity in Nigeria. In a statement released on Tuesday, he highlighted that Nigerians are living in fear due to a surge in attacks across the country, particularly in states such as Zamfara, Borno, Sokoto, Katsina, Kwara, and Oyo.

Kwankwaso pointed out that recent incidents of banditry, terrorism, kidnapping for ransom, communal violence, and armed robbery have left citizens feeling unsafe in their homes. He criticized the government's current security strategies, noting that despite significant spending in the security sector, attacks and kidnappings continue unabated.

Kwankwaso called for a comprehensive review of Nigeria's security architecture, emphasizing the need for improved intelligence gathering and community policing. He also urged the government to address social and economic issues that fuel criminal activities, advocating for greater investment in education, skill development, and healthcare services to combat poverty and unemployment.
