Adebayo Critiques Tinubu's Government Over Hardship

Adewale Adebayo, the presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), criticized the government of President Bola Tinubu, asserting that Nigerians are not better off since Tinubu assumed power in 2023. In a recent interview, Adebayo accused the administration of failing to address key challenges, including economic hardship and insecurity, which he claims have negatively impacted the lives of ordinary Nigerians.

He stated that no one’s life has improved under the current government, emphasizing that the country’s economic situation continues to deteriorate, affecting citizens across all social classes. Adebayo's comments echo previous criticisms made in 2025, where he accused the Tinubu administration of implementing policies that impose heavy financial burdens on Nigerians.

He described Tinubu as a "clever tax collector" focused on revenue generation, suggesting that the government is prioritizing taxation over the welfare of its citizens. Adebayo also criticized the administration's import duty policies as being anti-people and inconsistent with Tinubu's earlier pro-democracy stance.
