Start Small, Dream Big: Agboola's Business Insights

During the 426th inaugural lecture at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Professor Ayodeji Agboola, a Professor of Business Administration, encouraged Nigerians, especially aspiring entrepreneurs, to begin their business ventures without waiting for perfect conditions. He stated that enduring business empires are often built from humble beginnings through discipline, resilience, and strategic leadership.

Agboola lamented that many individuals with viable business ideas fail to take the first step due to endless planning. He emphasized that starting small should not be seen as a weakness, as it allows entrepreneurs to learn and adapt.

Citing examples like Apple and Aliko Dangote, he argued that ideas are the true foundation of enterprise, with capital following viable concepts. He identified key drivers of business prosperity, including leadership, innovation, and mentorship.

Agboola also stressed the importance of leadership at different business growth stages and warned that a successful leader without a successor is a failure.
