Sanwo-Olu Inspires Babcock Graduates on Resilience

On Sunday, during the 2026 Undergraduate Convocation Lecture at Babcock University in Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State, Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu addressed the graduating NOVA Class of 2026. He encouraged the students to embrace faith, resilience, and innovation as they transition into a rapidly changing world.

Sanwo-Olu emphasized that lasting success stems from courage, perseverance, and the willingness to break new ground. He advised graduates to view their graduation as the start of new opportunities rather than the conclusion of their academic journey.

Reflecting on his own experiences since graduating from the University of Lagos in 1988, he noted the importance of adapting to the realities of each generation. Sanwo-Olu shared that setbacks should be seen as valuable lessons and recounted challenges he faced as governor, including the COVID-19 pandemic and the #EndSARS protests.

He highlighted his administration's achievements, including expanding Lagos's annual budget from less than ₦900 billion in 2019 to ₦4.44 trillion and developing significant infrastructure projects.
