Makinde Confident Nigerians Will Vote Wisely in 2027

During the Oyo State Tourism Summit held at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan, Governor Seyi Makinde asserted that Nigerians will demonstrate their voting power in the 2027 elections. He expressed optimism that the electorate will choose their leaders without being swayed by federal influence.

Makinde, who is currently serving as the Governor of Oyo State, highlighted the structures his administration has created to ensure continuity in governance. While he recommended a successor, he stated that the ultimate decision lies with the people of Oyo State.

Makinde also cautioned against electing candidates who lack the capacity to govern effectively, as this could have serious consequences for the state. Speculation arose regarding his support for Bimbo Adekanbi, a former Commissioner for Finance in the state, as a potential governorship candidate.
