Akpoguma to Depart Hoffenheim After 13 Years

Kevin Akpoguma, a 31-year-old central defender, is set to leave TSG 1899 Hoffenheim at the end of the current season after a 13-year association with the club. His contract will expire, and Hoffenheim has decided not to renew it as part of a broader restructuring aimed at refreshing the team's defensive options.

Akpoguma joined Hoffenheim in 2013 from Karlsruher SC and has spent part of his early career on loan at Fortuna Düsseldorf and Hannover 96. He established himself as a reliable figure in the team's defense, known for his defensive strength and tactical awareness, earning a regular place in the squad during several Bundesliga campaigns.

However, his involvement has significantly reduced in the 2024-25 season as the club transitions to a younger squad. Akpoguma is expected to make his final home appearance for Hoffenheim when they face Werder Bremen at the PreZero Arena, where fans are preparing to give him a farewell tribute.
