Nigeria's D'Tigers Withdraw from 2025 AfroBasket Qualifiers Due to Lack of Funds

Nigeria's senior male basketball team, D'Tigers, has announced its withdrawal from the 2025 AfroBasket qualifiers citing financial constraints. The team confirmed the decision on their former Twitter handle, stating that despite commitments from several 2020 Olympians, they will not be able to participate in the qualifiers due to a lack of funds.

The qualifiers were set to begin in Tunisia, with Nigeria drawn in Group B alongside Uganda, Cape Verde, and Libya. This development comes as a setback for Nigerian basketball, especially after their victory in the 2015 AfroBasket tournament.
