Wahid Oshodi Becomes First African on WTT Board

Wahid Oshodi has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first African to serve as a full director on the World Table Tennis (WTT) Board. This historic appointment was announced during the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) executive board meeting held on March 1, 2026, at the WTT headquarters in Singapore.

Oshodi's nomination was made by ITTF President Petra Sörling and confirmed during a subsequent board meeting. He succeeds former chairmen Liu Guoliang and Khalil Al Mohannadi.

As a major stakeholder in WTT, Oshodi will be responsible for ensuring the commercial platform generates sustainable value for the sport, which has 227 member associations worldwide. His appointment reflects a renewed commitment to strengthening governance and strategic oversight within WTT.

Oshodi also serves as the president of the African Table Tennis Federation, focusing on building a solid governance structure for the organization’s long-term development.
