Wahid Oshodi Surprised by Sports Person of the Year Nomination

Wahid Oshodi, the Vice President of World Table Tennis and President of the African Table Tennis Federation, expressed his surprise at being nominated for the Sports Person of the Year category in the sixth edition of the Sportsville Special Recognition Award. He noted that he has always carried out his duties without seeking attention, making the nomination a significant surprise for him.

Oshodi highlighted the importance of the award, stating that it reflects his contributions to the development of table tennis in Nigeria and Africa on a global stage. He expressed gratitude for the progress made in the sport and acknowledged the opportunities ahead.

The Sportsville Special Recognition Award is scheduled to take place on March 28, 2026, and will be chaired by Larri Izamoj.
