NIMASA Renews Partnership with World Maritime University

The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) has renewed its strategic partnership with the World Maritime University (WMU) in Malm, Sweden, by signing a four-year memorandum of understanding (MoU). This agreement aims to strengthen Nigeria's maritime human capital and is considered a critical pillar in NIMASA's human capital development framework.

Dr. Dayo Mobereola, the Director General of NIMASA, emphasized the importance of this partnership in investing in Nigeria's maritime future.

Under the MoU, NIMASA will sponsor at least ten officers annually for a 14-month Master of Science program at WMU from 2026 to 2029, as well as at least one officer for a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) program jointly delivered with the International Maritime Law Institute (IMLI) in Malta. The MoU also includes provisions for distance learning, professional development courses, and research collaboration to enhance NIMASA's capacity in maritime safety and environmental management.
