Senator Ningi Details Colleague Mandiya's Tragic Death

Senator Abdul Ningi, representing Bauchi Central Senatorial District, shared the tragic details surrounding the death of his colleague, Bello Mandiya, during a Senate plenary session. Mandiya's body was discovered in the bathroom of his Abuja residence on September 7, 2026, three days after he reportedly slipped and hit his head.

Ningi was informed of Mandiya's death by his son while he was in Saudi Arabia. Mandiya was last seen on September 4, 2026, at around 11 am, as he prepared to attend Friday prayers.

His absence went unnoticed until a foul smell emanating from his apartment raised concerns among residents and the chief imam of Apo, who noted Mandiya's absence from prayers. Residents forced the door open and found Mandiya lifeless in the bathroom.

Ningi expressed grief over the incident, emphasizing the unpredictability of life and extending condolences to Mandiya's family and constituents. Mandiya had served as chief of staff to former Katsina State Governor Aminu Bello Masari and was elected in 2019 on the APC platform.
