NIS Disowns Passport in Useni Property Case in UK

The Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) disowned a Nigerian passport presented in a UK property case associated with the late former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Jeremiah Useni, and senior advocate Mike Ozekhome. During a court session in Abuja, Akim, an official from NIS, testified that the passport, allegedly issued in the name of Tali Shani, was not recognized in the agency's database.

The passport number A07535463 failed to pass the established issuance process, which includes payment documentation and biometric data capture. The prosecution alleged that Useni and Ozekhome were involved in forgery and impersonation related to the passport, which was purportedly used to support a claim for ownership of a property located at 79 Randal Avenue, London.

The court proceedings included 12 counts of charges against the defendants, with the matter adjourned until May 18, 2026, for further hearings.
