SWAN Mourns Veteran Sports Journalist Niyi Oyeleke

The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Kwara State chapter, expressed profound sorrow over the death of veteran sports journalist Niyi Oyeleke. In a statement signed by Chairman Mallam Ismail Ayodeji and Assistant Secretary Sodiq Adebara, they described his passing as a significant loss to the sports fraternity and the entire media community in Kwara State.

Born in Offa, Kwara, Oyeleke was admired for his deep knowledge of sports and captivating analysis. He was a dedicated member of SWAN and contributed immensely to the growth of sports journalism, mentoring younger colleagues and setting high standards in the newsroom.

His distinguished career at the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) was marked by quality production and insightful commentary, earning him respect from colleagues, athletes, and viewers nationwide. SWAN praised Oyeleke's humility, diligence, and passion for sports, stating that his wisdom and presence will be greatly missed.
