Niyi Oyeleke, Prominent Sports Journalist, Laid to Rest

Niyi Oyeleke, a distinguished sports journalist and former chairman of the Lagos chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), was laid to rest on Wednesday afternoon in his hometown of Offa, Kwara State. His career included significant contributions to Nigerian television, particularly as part of the NTA Sports report team and later with SuperSport.

Oyeleke was known for his efforts to strengthen the profession of sports journalism and promote unity within the SWAN. He built a strong reputation within the Nigerian football community, especially through his work with media offices at Enyimba FC, contributing to the club's successes.

He later served as a coordinator for Heartland FC, aiding in the organization and administration of the club during his tenure. His passing has led to widespread mourning within the Nigerian sports media community, reflecting the respect he garnered throughout his career.
