Nkem Hearts Foundation Provides Free Healthcare in Edo State

The Nkem Hearts Foundation initiated a free nationwide healthcare drive, starting with a two-day medical outreach in Edo State on September 9 and 10, 2026, at the Edo Specialist Hospital (ESH). This outreach served 519 beneficiaries, offering services such as general medical consultations, body mass index (BMI) checks, eye examinations, dental services, medical laboratory tests, and prescribed medications at no cost.

The initiative received support from the Edo State Government, with Deputy Governor Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa welcoming the foundation.

Health Commissioner Dr. Cyril Adams Oshiomhole praised the initiative, while Dr. Marie Bisi Idaomi, Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, commended the foundation's practical approach to healthcare. The outreach was officially opened by Dr. Victor Ohenhen, Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee at ESH.

Princess Nkem Onochie, the founder, expressed her belief that access to basic healthcare should not be a privilege and aims to expand this outreach across all 36 states in Nigeria.
