NLNG Contributes N250 Billion in Employee Taxes to Rivers

Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Limited (NLNG) has contributed N250 billion in employee taxes to the Rivers State government, as revealed by Managing Director Adeley Falad during a visit to the governor's house in Port Harcourt. Since its inception, NLNG has generated over N30 billion in revenue, with the federal government receiving a 49% stake, which includes approximately N9 billion in taxes.

Over the last three years, NLNG has consistently paid employee taxes, with N138 billion paid in 2023 alone. The company remitted N46 billion in the first three months of the year, with N39 billion already paid, almost matching the total from the previous year.

Falad emphasized the importance of a peaceful operational environment and the company's commitment to socio-economic development in Rivers State, including investments in education and community development initiatives. Governor Siminalayi Fubara reaffirmed the state's commitment to a robust partnership with NLNG, highlighting the need for continued support to ensure economic growth and stability in the region.
